Uber is Launching a Food Delivery Service

It seems Taco Bell’s planned delivery service may face some serious competition. Uber, the pseudo-taxi app that tends to be pretty polarizing, is launching two new sub-services that will deliver food to users in a very appetizing amount of time.
According to Huffington Post, the two Uber food branches, UberEats and UberFresh, both offer delivery for lunch and dinner in 10 minutes or less. UberFresh first launched in Los Angeles last December (where brunch is also available) and UberEats debuted in Barcelona last February. Through the Uber app, users enter their location after selecting either the UberEats or UberFresh icon. From there, they choose from the app’s curated list of foods from select restaurants, which changes on a weekly basis.
A slight difference between the two sub-apps is that UberEats chooses its featured restaurants with food guide Plateselector. One of the notable characteristics of the service is that it appears to have foodie appeal, with recent offerings such as barbecue pulled pork mac and cheese with a chocolate chip and potato chip cookie, croissant French toast with bacon and a bacon and tater-tot breakfast burrito.
Uber has yet to comment on which cities the service will be available in next.
