Intermarché Optimizes Cost-to-Serve with New Warehouse Replenishment System
Aims to improve operational costs, inventory performance
French retailer Intermarché has completed the international rollout of a new warehouse replenishment system for inventory optimization.
The solution from Symphony GOLD is operational at 60 distribution centers (DCs) across Europe, including 47 food and five nonfood DCs in France, one nonfood DC in Belgium, four food and nonfood DCs in Portugal, and three food and nonfood DCs in Poland.
Intermarché can now rely on real-time inventory indicators for cost-to-serve levels including logistics, supplier conditions and performance, store operations and inventory performance levels, according to Hervé Minisini, the chain’s supplier manager.
One of the world’s Top 20 largest retailers, Intermarché is a privately owned retail group supplying 3,550 European stores. It has six formats – Intermarché, Netto, Bricomarché, Brico Cash, Roady and Poivre Rouge – for food, nonfood, DIY, automotive, road-service and restaurant segments.
“As a global retailer, Intermarché is continually optimizing their systems to retain superior customer satisfaction levels within profitable cost-to-serve parameters,” said Donal Mac Daid, VP of marketing supply chain, Symphony GOLD.
