Here's
your chance to work for one of Fortune magazine's "100 Best Companies to
Work For."
Wegmans, the supermarket chain known for its
giant cheese and prepared foods selections, is hiring 150 full-time employees
for its Owings Mills store. The 110,000-square-foot store will anchor the $140 million redevelopment of
the former Solo Cup factory into Foundry Row.
Foundry Row in Owings
Mills is expected to be completed in 2016.

The
Wegmans is expected to open in September and will be one of the first stores to
open in Foundry Row, a project being built by Greenberg Gibbons and Vanguard.
The center at Reisterstown and Painters Mill roads will also include a Sports
Authority, DSW, LA Fitness and Ulta Beauty.
The
Owings Mills store will be Wegmans seventh in Maryland. Its stores in the
Baltimore area include locations in Bel Air, Hunt Valley and Gambrills.
Matt LePore, the Owings Mills store manager
and 18-year veteran of the company, said the new store will employ about 475
people, of which 425 will be hired locally. Hiring for part-time positions will
begin at a later date.
“We
promote from within and this is the ideal time to apply and grow a career with
us," he said in a statement. "Soon after joining our team, new
employees begin in-depth training to gain product knowledge and customer
service skills that are unrivaled in our industry.”
Available
full-time jobs include customer service, entry-level management and culinary
positions such as line cooks.
Full-time
job applicants are invited to apply online at www.wegmans.com or
call 1-877-WEGMANS. Applications won't be accepted at the store or construction
site. Wegmans plans to schedule interviews at its Owings Mills employment
office later this month.
Wegmans,
meanwhile, keeps on growing. The Rochester, N.Y.-based chain now boasts 88
stores in New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Virginia, Maryland and
Massachusetts.
