Shamrock Foods Company will introduce its foodservice warehourse to the Phoenix market later this month.
The Shamrock Foods Foodservice Warehouse is slated to open Jan. 15 and is located on Indian School Road, just off Interstate 17 in Phoenix. The warehouse will feature a lot of what Shamrock Foods offers with its distribution services but is available to anyone willing to come pick up.
"Foodservice trends are evolving and restaurants in particular are seeking cash and carry options," Shamrock Foods chief marketing officer, Ann Ocana.
Ocana said the warehouse is designed for business owners who need something right away and cannot wait for a delivery, restaurateurs and chefs who like to pick out their own ingredients and smaller businesses that cannot afford Shamrock's distribution services.
Shamrock offers around 7,000 different products in the warehouse. It will feature cheeses and milks from Shamrock Farms, as well as a large selection of meats, produce and kitchen supplies.
Shamrock's warehouse is close to Restaurant Depot, a competing foodservice warehouse. Unlike some warehouses, there is no membership required to shop at Shamrock's new facility. Ocana said PTAs and church groups shopped at the company's other locations for large events.
She added that not requiring a membership, as well as its meat and produce selection will set Shamrock's warehouse offering apart.
Shamrock opened a foodservice warehouses in Albuquerque in 2011 and El Paso in March 2014. Ocana said the the company has learned a lot from opening the previous stores that will improve their service in Phoenix.
"The product mix changes between the different communities," she said. "Our unique product mix combined with a convenient shopping model sets us apart from anything else in the marketplace."
This moves increases Shamrock's offerings in the foodservice market. The company already has the 10th largest distribution network in the country and Ocana said Shamrock is looking to expand its warehouses in Phoenix and into California.
