Publix Super Markets said Monday it has promoted David Phillips, the company’s CFO, to EVP and CFO.
Phillips, 56, has been CFO since 1999. He joined Publix in 1984 as an internal auditor.
In other promotions, all effective May 1:
• Kevin Murphy, 45, has been named senior vice president, retail operations, a new position. He was formerly Miami division vice president. Murphy joined Publix as a front service clerk in 1984 at a store in Margate, Fla.
• Succeeding Murphy as Miami division vice president will be Bob Bechtel, 52, Lakeland division regional manager.

• Tom McLaughlin, 65, will retire at the end of April as Lakeland division vice president. Succeeding him will be Sam Pero, Jacksonville division regional director.
These changes follow the announcement last week that Ed Crenshaw will retire as CEO of the Lakeland, Fla.-based company on April 30, with Todd Jones, the chain's president, adding the title of CEO.
