The project at 2837 Senator Ralph Scott Parkway is also opening about a month ahead of schedule. Company officials had initially projected it would be open by August 2016.
The Mebane Wal-Mart Distribution Center will be the company’s fourth distribution facility in North Carolina and will be used to store and distribute perishable food products for Wal-Mart stores in North Carolina and Virginia.
The company also stands to receive a $1.1 million incentive grant offer from the state and another $4.4 million in incentives from local town and county governments if it meets its hiring and investment goals.
The property is also near where European grocery chain Lidl is building its regional headquarters and distribution center in Mebane to support its planned grocery store expansion into the eastern U.S., including the Triangle
