Dean & DeLuca Eyes Dallas Market

Numerous sources are reporting the Dean & DeLuca, the New York-based gourmet grocer, is planning to open a store in Legacy West, a mixed-use development in Plano, Texas.
According to the Star-Telegram, Dean & DeLuca has had a strong tie to Fort Worth based on its holding the annualDean & DeLuca Invitational Golf Tournament at the Colonial Grounds Country Club in Fort Worth. The retailer also opened a pop-up store on the club’s grounds.
So some expressed surprise when CultureMap Dallasreported that Dean & DeLuca would be opening its first Texas store in the Dallas suburb of Plano rather than in Fort Worth.
The Star-Telegram also reports that in May, Jay Coldren, Dean & DeLuca’s chief development officer, said the company was planning to open two locations in the Dallas-Fort Worth market by then end of 2017. He also said that the future could bring “”a number of locations here, both of our full-market stores and our cafĂ© locations.”
