Global Japanese supermarket chain Mitsuwa Marketplace will open its first Hawaii location next week at the International Market Place.
The 9,980-square-foot store is located on the second level near Saks Fifth Avenue, and plans to open on Monday. It will sell Japanese groceries, electric appliances and cosmetics. It will also feature a food court along with sushi and bento selections.
“Mitsuwa Marketplace is an exciting and unique addition to our dining and retail lineup,” Michael Fenley, general manager of International Market Place, said in a statement. “Guests have an opportunity to experience an authentic taste of Japan in a quick, convenient shopping option.”
The new location will be the store’s eleventh U.S. location, and joins ABC Stores as a grocer serving International Market Place.
Also opening soon is The Street, a food court by celebrity chef Michael Mina, which will bring 13 food and beverage vendors together in a 6,900-square-foot space on the first floor of the shopping center.
