Tesco will take care of your pets while you shop

tescoOne of the UK’s largest retail chains Tesco finds new ways to attract buyers to their stores and increase sales. The largest UK supermarket plans to open a pet salon- Pet Den- in its Cardiff store next month. This will allow customers to leave here their cats and dogs, while they shop in store.
If found successful, these Pet Grooming services would be deployed to all the other Tesco stores throughout the nation, Tesco CEO Dave Lewis said in a statement. Interest in traditional supermarkets in the United Kingdom decreased significantly, as buyers prefer to make more frequent trips to the discount stores, or buy things online.
In an attempt to revive its business Tesco has signed different agreements with street fashion brands, which would allow the latter to place their merchandise in the Tesco outlets. The company’s decision to enter the pet salon market comes after a recent study that revealed many British consumers spend more on their pets. Euromonitor forecasts a growth of 3% in the pet care business during the coming year with a total turnover crossing 4.6 b Pounds.
