Roundy’s Inc. said Tuesday that it will close its Stevens Point distribution center, two months following the announcement that it is eliminating its Rainbow Foods banner in Minnesota.
The distribution center will close in stages, with operations ending by Sept. 30, according to a press release. It will consolidate distribution at its Oconomowoc and Mazomanie centers. The closure will result in the loss of all 196 jobs at the center by Sept. 13, the company said in a mass layoff notice to state of Wisconsin officials.
Milwaukee-based Roundy’s announced plans in May to sell 18 Rainbow grocery stores. It will close the remaining nine stores if it doesn’t find buyers for them.
All of the positions at the Stevens Point center will be eliminated, but Roundy's isn't releasing how many positions that is, a spokesman said.
