“I don’t think we’ve ever felt as welcome as we do in this area,” said Jo Natale, Wegmans’ VP of Media Relations.
The New York-based, family-owned grocery chain is ringing in its 100-year anniversary with the opening of two Richmond locations.

“What sets us apart, in addition to our low prices, is our people,” Natale said. “They provide excellent customer service.”
The new Wegmans will bring over 500 jobs to the area, along with a healthy variety of exotic, hard to find foods such as jackfruit ice cream, which 8News Reporter Candice Cole got to sample.
“We offer both conventional and organic products, over 3000 organic choices throughout our store in every department,” Natale added.
There’s also a selection of over 700 beers and a fine wine room for the most discriminating pallet. But in case you don’t feel like cooking …
“We have a pub that’s part of our market cafe,” Natale said. “It’s a full-service restaurant with great pub food and also a bar, so you can order beer, wine or even a cocktail.”
